Marco Mizzau (Rome, December 27, 1977) is an Italian executive and international strategic advisor. He is Chairman of Blacktrace, a London-based strategic advisory boutique, and operates at the intersection of private capital and artificial intelligence, with a focus on the integration of data, investment models and large-scale industrial transformation.

Over the course of his career, he has led transformation programs and platforms with systemic impact at national level, operating on volumes and levels of complexity that position him among Italian executives with significant experience in managing complex systems and value creation processes across both public institutions and private capital environments. His work focuses on the application of artificial intelligence to private equity models, deal sourcing strategies, and value creation programs, combining capital allocation, governance, and execution.

Mizzau began his career in strategic consulting at KPMG Consulting, later joining Ernst & Young and Accenture, where he became a Senior Manager and led transformation programs for major industrial and energy groups, including Enel, Eni, Acea, and Italcementi. He subsequently joined Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, working within the Chief Executive Officer’s office on strategic planning and organizational transformation initiatives.

In 2012, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer at the Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, contributing to operational transformation, cost optimization, and infrastructure development. In 2019, he was appointed Director General of Inarcassa, where he strengthened private market investment strategies, introduced advanced asset liability management frameworks, and led digitalization and cybersecurity programs.

In 2023, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Consip, the central public procurement platform owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance. During his tenure, Consip completed the digitalization of public procurement processes two years ahead of national recovery plan targets, strengthening its role as a strategic infrastructure for economic policy, digital procurement, and spending review. Consip manages €27.2 billion in public expenditure, representing approximately 1.8% of Italy’s GDP, and has generated over €4 billion in public sector savings.

Mizzau currently serves as Chairman of Blacktrace and operates as an independent advisor to private equity funds, institutional investors, and industrial platforms, supporting the definition and execution of growth strategies, investment programs, and large-scale transformations. His work increasingly focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence into investment models, operational decision-making, and industrial platforms, contributing to the evolution of private capital and the transformation of complex systems.
